In 2019, Digizen embarked on a transformative initiative known as “Digizen 1.0 Boot Camps.” This pioneering project took our dedicated team to the vibrant youth centers, universities, and institutes scattered across the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka.
Empowering the Youth: At the heart of Digizen 1.0 Boot Camps was a commitment to empowering the youth. We recognized that the digital age demanded a new set of skills and awareness, and we were determined to bridge the knowledge gap.
Visiting the East: Our team set out on a journey to reach young minds where they were. We conducted immersive boot camps at several key locations:
- South Eastern University of Sri Lanka: We engaged with the academic community, fostering discussions on safer internet practices, fact-checking, and media literacy.
- Sri Lanka Youth Center: At the heart of youth activity, we ignited conversations about digital responsibility, equipping young adults with the tools to navigate the digital landscape safely.
- Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education: We delved into the world of emerging technologies, emphasizing the importance of fact-checking in an age of rapid information dissemination.
Building a Safer Digital World: These boot camps were more than just workshops; they were stepping stones toward a safer and more informed online world. Through engaging activities, discussions, and hands-on learning, we sowed the seeds of responsible digital citizenship.
The Journey Continues: Digizen 1.0 Boot Camps marked the beginning of a journey to build Better Digital Spaces. We left these institutions not just with knowledge but with the hope that our impact would continue to grow, fostering responsible netizens who, in turn, would shape a brighter digital future.
Stay tuned for more updates on our initiatives, and join us in creating a digital world where knowledge, respect, and safety prevail. Together, we’ll keep forging ahead. 🚀✨
