What we have done

digizen-bootcamp-1

digizen 1.0 boot camps

In 2019, Digizen launched “Digizen 1.0 Boot Camps” across the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. We visited youth centers, universities, and institutes, conducting immersive workshops on safer internet practices, fact-checking, and media literacy. Our mission was to empower the youth with the skills and awareness needed in the digital age. By engaging with these communities, we laid the foundation for responsible digital citizenship and the creation of Better Digital Spaces. Our journey continues as we work toward a safer and more informed online world. 🚀

SCORE project

Digizen partnered with Global Communities in the SCORE Project, focusing on Batticaloa and Ampara. Our role was vital, providing expert consultation and facilitation to empower these communities for sustainable development. We engaged closely with local residents, ensuring their voices were heard and needs met. In Batticaloa and Ampara, we facilitated meaningful discussions and actions aligned with community aspirations. Through open dialogues, workshops, and community engagement, we advanced the SCORE Project’s mission of growth and resilience. Our commitment to creating Better Digital Spaces extended to supporting holistic community development. We stand firm in our dedication to empowering communities, one step at a time. 🌍

Myths & Truths

Digizen’s “Truths & Myths” campaign tackles the dissemination of misinformation within minority communities in Sri Lanka through engaging animated videos. These videos meticulously debunk myths, providing evidence-based explanations and expert insights. To ensure inclusivity, we’ve produced content in both Tamil and Sinhala languages, amplifying our impact. Our collaboration with Moon Shore Organization enhances the campaign’s reach and credibility. This initiative reflects our commitment to digital literacy and responsible citizenship, empowering individuals to make informed choices and fostering a more inclusive and informed society. Join us in creating Better Digital Spaces by championing truth and dispelling myths. 🌐📚

Cyber Savvy Tips

Digizen’s “Cyber Savvy Tips” project leverages the expertise of our volunteers, including digital enthusiasts and tech-savvy individuals, to compile a collection of short video clips packed with valuable internet safety tips and hacks. These insights, shared by our dedicated team, are disseminated widely across our social media platforms and YouTube, reaching a diverse audience of digital users. In a digital age where online presence is paramount, this initiative aims to empower individuals with the knowledge required to navigate the digital landscape securely. “Cyber Savvy Tips” reflects our commitment to fostering digital literacy and promoting safer internet practices, contributing to the creation of Better Digital Spaces.
